A percolator, commonly shortened to perc, is a filtration component incorporated into a bong.

Are More Percolators Always Better?

Not necessarily.

It’s easy to assume that a bong with more percolators must automatically be better.

But additional glasswork can also mean:

  • More components to clean
  • More complicated construction
  • More glass to handle
  • More potential areas for damage
  • A higher purchase price

A well-designed single-percolator bong can be an excellent choice.

That’s why we’d recommend choosing based on the overall design and construction, rather than simply counting the number of percolators.
